Minutes of a meeting of Spreyton Parish Council held in the Village Hall on Wednesday 17th November 2010 at 7.30 pm.

Present: C Lott (Chairman), W Porritt (Vice Chairman), E Osborn-Hodge, E Collins, Z Grimley, R Henderson and C Wootton (Clerk). Also Mrs J Porritt.

1 Apologies: B Cunningham (in Australia).

2 Minutes of the meeting held on 15th September 2010

2.1 Having been previously circulated the minutes were approved and signed.

3 Matters arising:

3.1 The name "Chapel Park" suggested by the Council for the new development has been accepted by WDBC.

4 Interests in Agenda items: None.

5 Extreme Events Conference/Purchase of road salt

5.1 The Chairman attended this conference held at the Met Office.

5.2 The Chairman and his neighbour have purchased 1 tonne of rock salt. The Council agreed to purchase 6 25 kilo bags to be stored at the Clerk's property for use within the village

5.3 Any amendment to the Parish Emergency Plan will be reviewed at the January meeting.

6 Requests for donations West Devon CAB/Ring & Ride

6.1 It was resolved to make donations of £50 each to both organisations.

7 Street lighting hours

7.1 It was agreed that the reduced street lighting hours were acceptable.

8 Speed limits/traffic calming in vicinity of the new development

8.1 The Police will make two spot checks( morning/afternoon) to establish the extent of the speeding problem and whether some form of physical traffic calming could be installed.

9 Link Committee

9.1 The next meeting will be held on 18th November.

10 Planning matters

10.1 Mrs L Jewell has applied for permission to fell 3 silver fir trees at Lynderies which are subject to a Tree Preservation Order - no objection.

10.2 An application has been made for the construction of a conservatory at Plot 1 Chapel Park.

No objection.

11 Accounts to pay: None.
