Minutes of a meeting of Spreyton Parish Council held in the Village Hall on Wednesday 16th September 2009 at 7.30 pm.

Present: W Porritt (Chairman), C Lott (Vice Chairman), R Henderson, B Cunningham, Z Grimley, E Collins and C Wootton (Clerk). Also Mr & Mrs L Shipley.

1 Apologies: E Osborn-Hodge and P Ridgers (Borough Councillor).

2 Minutes of the meeting held on 15th July 2009

2.1 Having been previously circulated the minutes were agreed and signed.

3 Matters arising: None.

4 Interests in agenda items

4.1 The Chairman had an interest in both matters to be considered in item 7.

5 Result of Best Kept Village Competition 2009

5.1 The village finished in the top group of Past Winners with a score of 94 points - 2008

90 points. The judges' comments were placed in the circulation file.

6 Link Committee

6.1 Cllrs Lott and Collins attended the last meeting.

6.2 A review is to be held into accidents atthe Merrymeet Junction on the A30. _____

6.3 The Police will provide more specific crime statistics in future.

7 Planning matters

7.1 The planning application for the new village shop to be built on land adjoining the Village Hall car park has been submitted.

7.2 The plans were considered acceptable and as previously agreed the Parish Council will pay the planning fee.

7.3 An application has been made by Mrs C Lamb for the conversion of a barn at The Vicarage into a dwelling.

7.4 Mr & Mrs Shipley own Glebe Barn which adjoins the barn. They have lodged an objection to the application as they dispute the correctness of certain details of the application including the boundaries shown on the Location Plan.

7.5 The Council will hold a site meeting at the barn on Friday 18th September and submit further comment to the planning authority.

8 Accounts to pay

8.1 T Davey £74.00. Grass cutting now includes a larger area of the Village Green and cost of each cutting now increased to £22.
