Minutes of a meeting of Spreyton Parish Council held in the Village Hall on Wednesday 16th January 2008 at 7.30 pm.

Present: W Porritt (Chairman), C Lott (Vice Chairman), E Collins, Z Smith, R Henderson, B Cunningham, E Osborn-Hodge and C Wootton (Clerk). Also P Ridgers (Borough Councillor).

1 Apologies: None.

2 Minutes of the meeting held on 21st November 2007

2.1 Having been previously circulated the minutes were agreed and signed.

3 Matters arising:

3.1 The PCC will give more precise details of the cost of the churchyard expansion in time for the March meeting.

4 Interests in agenda items.

4.1 The Chairman had an interest in a matter to be discussed in item 9.

 

5 Annual Parish Meeting

5.1 It was agreed to invite South West Planning Aid to the meeting.

5.2 Clrs J McInnes (DCC) and P Ridgers (WDBC) would be invited.

6 Best Kept Village Competition 2008.

6.1 It was resolved to again enter the competition (no entry fee charged).

7 Progress re illuminated speeding sign

7.1 Nothing further has been heard. The Chairman has contacted DCC.

7.2 Initially temporary signs are usually erected. These are provided free.

7.3 Permanent signs cost approx £2500 each.

8 Development to the north of Meadow Rise

8.1 No new application has yet been submitted but it appears an application for 25 houses will be made.

8.2 It was agreed that the Chairman will submit a letter suggesting the de-classification of the land as suitable for development and that it should not be included in the new Site Allocations Plan Document for the Local Development Framework.

9 Planning matters

9.1 An application has been made by Mr R Brimacombe for the erection of a timber building to cover an existing redundant silage clamp at South Beer Farm - supported.

9.2 The Chairman left the meeting as he had an interest in the next matter.

9.3 An application has been made by K J Barber and H M Fox for an extension to the existing building and garden at Hollycombe Bungalow - supported.

9.4 The Chairman rejoined the meeting.
