SPREYTON PARISH COUNCIL Spreyton Parish - Home Emergency Plan If you are new to the parish please Download a copy from the website.
Devon Snow Warden Scheme David Knowles is our Parish Snow Warden. Wardens are given training by DCC and will provide snow clearance within the guidelines of the scheme any third party claim arising from their activities will be covered by DCC's public liability insurance. NEWS FROM THE PARISH COUNCIL During 2011 many things have occurred most notable of which in Parish terms is the fact that after twenty years we have actually had an election to decide the make-up of the Parish Council. I welcome this as it shows that interest in local affairs is alive and well in the community and that there were enough people prepared to put their heads above the parapet and take their chances in the popular vote.
So, class a new term begins and I find myself unexpectedly back in the head prefect. Some of my old form mates remain but three old familiar faces are no longer with us so we must say farewell to Clive Lott, Bev Cunningham and Zoe Grimley and thank them for all the good work they handed in.
Replacing them are new students Judith Talbot, Des Hawking and Ken Whittaker who successfully passed the entrance exam and to whom we extend a warm welcome.
In the past we have had to take many new subjects into the curriculum: Wind Farms, Affordable Housing and Unitary Authorities to mention a few. So who knows what may crop up in the syllabus this term? However I feel confident that the combined brain power of the new class should be up to any task that is put before it.
Please remember that you voted for us to represent you so if you have a query, problem or grievance that you think we can deal with please make it known to a Councillor of your choice. Details of Affordable Homes and Best Kept Village Competition 2006
